JICA専門家がVietnam Rubber Groupを訪問/JICA Expert Visit to Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG)

On June 27, 2025, Ms. Yuko Kawaguchi, JICA Expert, and Mr. Le Lam Van, Project Assistant, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Vietnam Rubber Group – Joint Stock Company (VRG) in Ho Chi Minh City, where they held discussions with Mr. Diep Xuan Truong, Director of the Department of Technology and Environment, and Ms. Ngo Thi Nhan, Specialist.

VRG is a state-owned enterprise in Vietnam engaged in the cultivation, harvesting, processing, and export of natural rubber. With more than 100 subsidiary companies, VRG has established an extensive production network not only across Vietnam but also in countries such as Laos and Cambodia. In addition to its core rubber business, VRG is also active in renewable energy, wood processing, and the manufacturing of industrial rubber products. The company is recognized as a leading enterprise in Vietnam for its strong commitment to environmental responsibility, sustainable development, and the adoption of digital technologies.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the potential for collaboration on the industrial-scale application of protein-free natural rubber, which is currently being developed under the INBERBON project. The exchange marked an important step toward future cooperation.

2025年6月27日、川口裕子JICA専門家およびLe Lam Vanプロジェクトアシスタントは、ベトナム　ホーチミン市にあるVietnam Rubber Group – Joint Stock Company（VRG）本社を表敬訪問しDiep Xuan Truong技術・環境部部長およびNgo Thi Nhan専門官と意見交換を行いました。

VRGは、天然ゴムの植栽、採取、加工、輸出を中心に事業を展開するベトナム国営企業で、100社を超える傘下企業を有しています。ベトナム国内はもとより、ラオスやカンボジアを含む国外にも広範な生産ネットワークを構築しています。さらに、再生可能エネルギー、木材加工、工業用ゴム製品の製造にも取り組んでおり、環境配慮、持続可能な開発、デジタル技術の導入にも積極的に取り組む企業です。

今回の訪問ではINBERBONプロジェクトで研究が進められているタンパク質フリー天然ゴムの研究成果を研究室レベルから産業レベルへとスケールアップするための協力の可能性などが話し合われ、今後の連携に向けた第一歩となりました。
