日・ASEAN元日本留学生評議会(ASCOJA)代表団がハノイ工科大学ゴム科学技術センターを訪問 /ASCOJA Delegation Visits the Rubber Science and Technology Center at Hanoi University of Science and Technology
On 26 June, 2026, the Rubber Science and Technology Center welcomed a delegation of approximately 40 representatives from the ASEAN Council of Japan Alumni (ASCOJA). ASCOJA is an umbrella organization of Japan alumni associations in ASEAN countries. The visit was organized as part of the study program of the 4th Japan-ASEAN International Education Symposium, held in Vietnam.
The visit began with a welcome address by Assoc. Prof. Phan Trung Nghia, the Vietnamese Principal Investigator of the project. HUST students then guided the delegation around the facilities in English, providing an overview of the center and its research activities.
The participants showed particular interest in the current situation and challenges facing the rubber industries in ASEAN countries and Vietnam. They also asked questions about the process through which the research outcomes of the center are developed into rubber products for practical and industrial applications.
The visit provided an opportunity to introduce ASCOJA representatives from across ASEAN to the project’s efforts toward the industrialization of protein-free natural rubber. It also helped raise awareness among neighboring ASEAN countries of this Vietnam-based initiative. The project will continue to make use of various opportunities to expand its research network and promote collaboration across the region.
