Visit to Nam Long Company and RRIV (12-14 June 2024)/Nam LongカンパニーとRRIVへの訪問（2024年6月12日～14日）

The project members travelled to Ho Chi Minh City from 12 June 2024 to visit Nam Long company and the Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam (RRIV).

Nam Long company manufactures rubber gloves for household and factory use in Vietnam and distributes its products to DAISO in Japan. Nam Long has been using Deproteinized natural rubber materials for several years now and is keen on new technologies. We look forward to future cooperation.

The Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam (RRIV) is a research institute with which we had cooperated in a previous project, and this time we went to observe tapping, the process of extracting latex from rubber trees. At the institute, we were given an overview of natural rubber and an explanation of the testing procedures and methods for rubber. There was an abundance of information, and we were able to get a sense of its more than 80-year history as a public research institute under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. There was also a demonstration of tapping to collect latex at the plantation, which further deepened the project members' understanding of natural rubber.

Nam LongカンパニーとRRIVへの訪問（2024年6月12日～14日）

プロジェクトメンバーが2024年6月12日からホーチミンに出張し、Nam Long companyとthe Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam（RRIV）を訪問しました。

Nam Longカンパニーはベトナムで家庭用および工場用のゴム手袋を製造している会社で、日本においてはダイソーにも製品を卸しています。また、Nam Longは数年前から自社で脱タンパク質の天然ゴム素材を使用し始めており、新しいテクノロジーに対して意欲的であることや、DirectorがJICAの実施する経営人材の育成研修を受講していることからも、日本への理解も深く、今後の協力関係に期待したいところです。

Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam（RRIV）は前プロジェクトでも協力関係にあった研究所で、今回はゴムの木からラテックスを採取するタッピングを見学に行きました。研究所では天然ゴムの概要やゴムの検査手順及び検査方法の説明がありました。その情報量は豊富で、農業農村開発省傘下の公的研究機関としての80年以上の歴史を感じることができました。また、プランテーションではラテックスを採取するタッピングのデモンストレーションがあり、プロジェクト関係者は天然ゴムへの理解をさらに深めました。
